Surrounds completed Phase I of this project in 2004. It consisted of a back yard patio with a grill area, fire pit and lush plantings such as birches and rhododendrons. Phase II came a couple of years later and tied into renovations of the house.
The main item on the homeowners wish list was vehicular or motor access to the front door. Surrounds created a motor court in the front with a wide flagstone staircase leading to the front door. Walls curve off the the staircase to retain
the slope and allow for planting beds. Phase II also included a vanishing edge pool and spa area that needed to have a naturalistic look and feel. Basic plantings were installed around the pool to prevent the attraction of insects but everywhere else you will find a vast array of colors and textures. Large slabs of Tennessee flagstone makes an inviting walkway to the pool area.
Stepping into this backyard gives one the feel of walking into a forest with a lush green canopy.
