Extending their living space into an outdoor environment was the goal of this Surrounds customer. They wanted an outdoor living area that included a fireplace, grill area, patios and arbor all integrated with lush landscaping.   They also wanted a entry feature from the front to add privacy to the backyard along with a storage and kids play place tucked into a corner.

A custom designed and built cedar gate, stained white,  frames the entry to the backyard.  The white stained fence provides the privacy requested by the homeowner.  Stepping onto the flagstone walkway framed by single stemmed River Birches, you will be led to the the new outdoor living area which is right off the indoor kitchen area.

The three layer arbor is made of 14" columns and heavy cedar beams..,designed to provide beauty and shade by filtering the strong summer sun. There is plenty of room under the arbor for dining and relaxing.  The plantings behind the stone fireplace add texture and help frame the environment.

Taking the steps down from the patio onto a pathway of random cut flagstone slabs leads you to a lower patio.  You'll also find the grassy area we framed with crape myrtles to create a kids play area.  Finally, a boulder pathway leads to a beautiful  prefabricated playhouse that was set amidst the trees.

This site was filled with a variety of perennials, trees, and evergreens creating a peaceful, serene retreat.
